Abstract in English
This research seeks to investigate the perception of colors in the visual sphere, but above all, in the symbolic field, with the intention of bringing together these two perspectives of thought about color within the field of visual arts. In an attempt to unite these two extremes, I first made a historical survey, highlighting the meanings given to the color blue over time, thus being able to situate my creations produced with this color. Later, I reflect through approximations about my works and those of other artists whose color is the foundation of the work, hereby contextualizing my production. I emphasize in this thesis the understanding of color not only as a visual stimulus, that is, pure visuality, but also predominantly, as a psychological characteristic that is revealed through symbols and emotional states. Being the psychological character of color, the symbolic, the question that has been becoming more and more present in my production.
