Abstract in English
This dissertation concerns painting poetic processes: artistic, theoretical and everyday references, descriptions of studio procedures as well as remarks on the materials involved on this artistic language. The text is divided into three parts, the first one reflects on general issues that guide the artistic process, contextualized by works produced prior to the postgraduate research. The second part regards a series of paintings that revolve around the structure of the chessboard, and are named after the American chess player Bobby Fischer. This chapter addresses issues such as: imprecisions between figuration and abstraction, and pictorial composition as a game dynamic. The third part of the text focuses on the exhibition Ai de mim que sou romântica which took place in São Paulo at the beginning of 2023. It describes the processes involved in the making of the paintings in the exhibition. It also addresses references from the fashion industry, and how this proximity between fashion and visual arts effects the materiality of painting.
