Abstract in English
In this thesis, I engage in experimental research in visual arts focused on artistic poetic practices interested in cultivating, using, occupying, and thinking with the Earth in contemporary art. These poetic practices develop alternative approaches and perspectives on the meaning of inhabiting the Earth, soil management, and plant cultivation, thus providing different contributions to rethink and challenge classical conceptions of gardens, landscapes, and the Nature/Culture dichotomy. These practices reveal themselves as Insurgent_Resurgent. Insurgent due to their capacity to rebel and question classical ontologies and colonial forms of dominion, exploitation, and control over the Earth. Resurgent because they concern themselves with the possibility of promoting rebirth and managing diversities in a world in ruins. The methodology of the project involves constructing essayistic narratives in line with the production of artistic works, seeking to formulate a field of experimental poetic investigation in dialogue with contemporary Latin American artists and concepts from philosophers, thinkers, and anthropologists such as Donna Haraway, Anna Tsing, Malcom Ferdinand, Antônio Bispo, Emanuele Coccia, Bruno Latour, Philippe Descola, among others.
