SituAções apresenta uma investigação sobre ações participativas e colaborativas realizadas por Maurício Ianês entre 2002 e 2019, evidenciando a posição dialética do artista em relação ao sistema da arte, seus modos de produção e distribuição. Ao abordar aos jogos de poder entre artista, público e instituição, traz à tona as contradições que surgem em tais práticas e coloca em questão o lugar da arte na sociedade. A pesquisa teórica oferece uma descrição das obras em debate, conectando-as com o contexto em que foram produzidas e seus aspectos conflituosos, situando-as dentro do sistema mercadológico da arte, propondo uma visão crítica sobre o poder da instituição e do artista em relação aos colaboradores muitas vezes anônimos que realizaram as obras a partir de situações concebidas pelo artista. As ações aqui apresentadas e sua análise evidenciam o seu conteúdo político e questionam a ideia de efetividade dentro do seu contexto social, além de discutir determinadas terminologias comumente usadas pelo sistema para designar tais ações, como performance, estética e arte participativa.

SituAções presents an investigation on participatory and collaborative actions conceived by Maurício Ianês between 2002 and 2019, focusing on the dialectical role of the artist in relation to the art system, its modes of production and distribution. By approaching the power play between artist, public and institution, it brings to surface the contradictions that arise within these practices, questioning the role of art in society. The theoretical research offers a description of the debated works, connecting them with the context in which they were produced and its conflictual aspects, situating these works within the market system of art, proposing a critical view on the power of institutions and of the artist in relation to its collaborators, most of them anonymous, that executed the works that started with situations proposed by the artist. The actions here presented and their analyses shed light on their political content, questioning the idea of effectivity in its social context, discussing some terminologies commonly used by the system to designate such actions, like performance, aesthetics and participatory art.
