Studio Op. 1. Reissues
Abstract in English
Studio per la chitarra, Opus 1 (1812) consists of one of the rare works by Mauro Giuliani with fingering and textual indications. Starting from the question which topics presented in the work make it one of the most important didactic guitar publications of 19th century? two main goals were outlined: to enumerate and reflect technical and musical aspects featured by Giuliani in his Studio, Op.1 and to present and comment on the changes and suggestions made in reissues of the work published in the 20th and 21st centuries. Through the survey of specialized bibliography and comparison with other methods of the time, the context of publication, the nature of the work and its textual and musical content were discussed. Then, eleven reissues of different formats were presented and commented comparatively. Finally, the unpublished edition of the work developed by Prof. Dr. Edelton Gloeden is full reproduced with practical suggestions and explanatory notes. The research shows that Studio, Op.1 is a didactic work still capable of offering the contemporary guitarist the opportunity to develop technical and musical aspects together and for thar it does not need further changes in the musical text.
