Abstract in English
The present research aims to offer some contributions to the conductor who begins his process of interpretive approach to Beethoven's symphonic work. The quite generalized view in the literature that approaches the composer's work as a precursor of romanticism in music, and not necessarily based on the tradition of the 18th century, is problematized. Throughout the whole thesis, an attempt is made to oppose this paradigm widely spread since the mid-19th century and still very present at the elaboration of the interpretive practice of composers symphonic work. Under the gaze of the ancient music tradition, more specifically that represented by Haydn and Mozart, Beethoven's symphonies are discussed, highlighting their rhetorical aspects based on the precepts of classical poetics. At the same time, the research seeks to point the ingenious development of the compositional procedures of the 18th century masters, who are seen by Beethoven as models to be copied. Finally, the research proposes ways to highlight these compositional elements and how they can be approached in the interpretive practice in order to obtain a more verisimilar result in the performance of Beethoven's symphonies as a music essentially built on the precepts of the 18th century tradition.
