Esta pesquisa tem por objetivo a compreensão do contexto Terceira Idade, em termos de Música Coral, por meio do estudo da bibliografia sobre o tema (IGAYARA-SOUZA; RAMOS; HAUCK-SILVA; PEDROSO JÚNIOR; CASSOL e BÓS; AQUINO, SILVA, TELES e FERREIRA; GAUNT e WESTERLUND; GABRIEL e MIGUEL; LAKSCHEVITZ, entre outros autores) e do trabalho prático com o Coral da Terceira Idade da USP (seis anos na equipe com funções de regente, monitora de naipes e pianista). O primeiro capítulo descreve a estrutura e o funcionamento do Coral da Terceira Idade da USP, objeto de estudo desta pesquisa, realizada do ponto de vista de observação participativa. Após algumas considerações sobre a população idosa no Brasil e no mundo, os tópicos tratados serão referentes ao próprio Coral: testes de ingresso; o giro de coralistas e monitores; planejamentos e avaliações; estrutura de ensaio (alongamento e aquecimento, ensaio de naipe e ensaio geral); espaço físico e atividades preparatórias. O segundo capítulo aborda aspectos para a análise e escolha de repertório adequado à voz do idoso, apresenta as obras dedicadas ao Coral da Terceira Idade da USP ao longo dos últimos anos, bem como uma lista do repertório executado pelo Coral no período de 2013- 2019, e traz considerações sobre a importância da performance e apresentações musicais do Coral da Terceira Idade da USP. O terceiro capítulo traz a análise dos questionários respondidos pelos coralistas do Coral da Terceira Idade da USP tornando possível, assim, traçar um perfil do coro e compreender como a participação no Coral da Terceira Idade da USP tem sido relevante em suas vidas. Como resultados da pesquisa, apresentamos uma descrição detalhada da estrutura do Comunicantus: Laboratório Coral (laboratório de corais do Departamento de Música da Universidade de São Paulo), um levantamento do repertório apresentado entre 2013-2019 pelo Coral da Terceira Idade da USP, uma lista de obras dedicadas ao Coral, registramos as percepções dos coralistas sobre o Coral da Terceira Idade da USP e traçamos um perfil dos coralistas, o que nos proporcionou uma compreensão mais ampla deste contexto.

This research aims to understand the context of the Older Adults, in terms of Choral Music, through the study of the bibliography on the theme (IGAYARA-SOUZA; RAMOS; HAUCK-SILVA; PEDROSO JÚNIOR; CASSOL and BÓS; AQUINO, SILVA, TELES and FERREIRA; GAUNT and WESTERLUND; GABRIEL and MIGUEL; LAKSCHEVITZ, among other authors) and the practical work with the USP's Senior Citizen Choir (six years in the team with functions of conductor, monitor of suits and pianist). The first chapter describes the structure and functioning of the USP's Senior Citizen Choir, the object of study of this research, carried out from the point of view of participatory observation. After some considerations about the elderly population in Brazil and in the world, the topics covered will refer to the Choir itself: entrance tests; the turn of choristers and monitors; planning and evaluations; test structure (stretching and warming up, suit test and rehearsal); physical space and preparatory activities. The second chapter addresses aspects for the analysis and choice of repertoire suitable for the aging voice, presents the works dedicated to the USP's Senior Citizen Choir over the past years, as well as a list of the repertoire performed by the Choir in the period 2013-2019, and brings considerations about the importance of the performance and musical performances of USP's Senior Citizen Choir. The third chapter presents the analysis of the questionnaires answered by the choir members of the USP's Senior Citizen Choir, thus making it possible to draw a profile of the choir and understand how the participation in the USP's Senior Citizen Choir has been relevant in their lives. As a result of the research, we present a detailed description of the structure of Comunicantus: Laboratório Coral (choral laboratory of the Department of Music of the University of São Paulo), a list of the repertoire presented between 2013-2019 by the USP's Senior Citizen Choir, a list of works dedicated to the choir, we record the perceptions of the choir singers about the USP's Senior Citizen Choir and draw a profile of the choir singers, which provided us with a broader understanding of this context.
