A presente pesquisa estuda os trinta anos de carreira do soprano Agnes Ayres (1925-2008), cantora de rádio no segmento de repertório lírico. Apresenta momentos importantes de sua trajetória, contemplando os estudos junto a professores argentinos e italianos, como Francesco Murino, a formação no Conservatório Dramático e Musical de São Paulo, as atuações nas rádios Cultura, Gazeta e RAI italiana, os onze principais papeis em óperas apresentadas, sobretudo em teatros de São Paulo e Rio de Janeiro no Brasil, e de Florença, Modena, Genova e Torino na Itália. Para estabelecer esse percurso, foram acessadas fontes primárias cartas e documentos pessoais cedidos pela família de Agnes Ayres entrevistas gravadas e três registros fonográficos de suas performances, além de catálogos e artigos publicados em periódicos. Os dados levantados foram contextualizados através de um panorama histórico a respeito de bel canto, do Verismo e da Rádio Gazeta. Considerações analíticas a respeito de duas canções brasileiras de seu repertório, El clavelito en tus lindos cabellos, de Francisco Mignone, e Recomendação, de Babi de Oliveira, foram estabececidas. A conclusão traz uma reflexão sobre a utilização de seu padrão de vocalidade por cantoras posteriores e de outros segmentos musicais.

This research studies the thirty-year career of soprano Agnes Ayres (1925-2008), radio singer in the lyrical repertoire segment. It presents important moments in her trajectory, contemplating her studies with Argentine and Italian professors, such as Francesco Murino, her training at the Dramatic and Musical Conservatory of São Paulo, her performances on Cultura, Gazeta and Italian RAI radio stations, her eleven main roles in operas performed, mainly in theaters in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, and in Florence, Modena, Genova and Turin in Italy. To establish her path, primary sources were accessed letters and personal documents provided by the family of Agnes Ayres recorded interviews and three phonographic records of her performances, in addition to catalogs and articles published in journals. The data collected were contextualized through a historical overview of Bel canto, Verismo and Rádio Gazeta. Analytical considerations were made about two Brazilian songs from her repertoire, El clavelito en tus lindos cabellos, by Francisco Mignone, and Recomendação, by Babi de Oliveira. The conclusion brings a reflection on the use of her vocal pattern by later female singers and female singers from other musical segments.
