A dissertação de mestrado O Tratamento da Imagem em Três Canções de Villa-Lobos articula narrativas imagético-poéticas, tecendo uma pesquisa que analisa três obras cancionais de Villa-Lobos, sob vários aspectos, traçando um panorama sobre seus planos históricos, poéticos, semânticos e musicais, trazendo foco para a densidade destas canções em Villa-Lobos. Essa investigação utiliza como objetos de estudo três canções compostas por Villa-Lobos, com datas e letristas diferentes: Pobre Cega (1925/26), com texto de Álvaro Moreyra, do ciclo das Serestas, Iara (1926), com texto de Mário de Andrade, da série Três Poemas Indígenas, e a Ária das Bachianas nº5 (1938/45), com textos de Altamirando de Souza, do ciclo das Bachianas. A presente dissertação visa propor reflexões às canções estudadas, em vias de analisá-las usando descobertas recentes de teóricos sobre aspectos biográficos, analíticos e processos composicionais de Villa-Lobos, para agregar um olhar sobre a construção poética da imagem nas canções do compositor.

The master's thesis The Treatment of the Image in Songs by Villa-Lobos articulates imagetic-poetic narratives, weaving a research that analyzes three song works by Villa-Lobos, under various aspects, creating an overview of their historical, poetic, semantic and musical plans, bringing focus to the density of these songs in Villa- Lobos. This investigation uses as study objects three songs composed by Villa-Lobos, with different dates and lyricists: Pobre Cega (1925/26), with text by Álvaro Moreyra, from the cycle das Serestas, Iara (1926), with text by Mário de Andrade, from the Três Poemas Indígenas series, and Aria das Bachianas nº 5 (1938/45), with texts by Altamirando de Souza, from the Bachianas cycle. This dissertation aims to propose reflections on the songs studied, in the process of analyzing them using recent discoveries by theorists about Villa-Lobos' biographical, analytical and compositional processes, to add a look at the poetic construction of the image in the composer's songs.
