O desenvolvimento de comunicações em rede somados ao desenvolvimento dos transportes transnacionais modificaram a vida em sociedade. As relações sociais não são mais apenas relações locais, indivíduos de diferentes partes do globo interagem uns com os outros em um único território planetário. Nesse sentido, a partir de uma perspectiva cosmopolita, essa pesquisa investiga como os fenômenos que conectam o mundo afetaram os mecanismos musicais de identificação e representação de si. Através do estudo da música chinesa praticada na cidade de São Paulo na contemporaneidade, procura-se analisar de que maneira ocorrem os processos de afiliações identitárias musicais nesse âmbito. Finalmente, com o intuito de compreender os aspectos estéticos dessa prática, a partir de perspectivas musicológicas e sociológicas, essa pesquisa consiste no estudo de caso de dois grupos com produções relevantes para a música chinesa da cidade: o Ensemble Gaoshan Liushui e a Associação Guqin Brasil. Além disso, são avaliados como as articulações de identidades modificam a prática musical e resultam em uma cultura híbrida.

The development of networked communications coupled with the development of transnational transport has changed life in society. Social relations are no longer just local ones, individuals from different parts of the globe interact with each other in a single planetary territory. From a cosmopolitan perspective, this research analyzes how the phenomena that connect the world affected the musical mechanisms of identification and representation of the self. In this sense, from a cosmopolitan perspective, this research analyzes how the phenomena that connect the world affected the musical mechanisms of identification and representation of the self. Through the study of Chinese music practiced in the São Paulo city in contemporary times, we seek to analyze how the processes of musical identity affiliations occur in this context. Finally, in order to understand the aesthetic aspects of this practice, from musicological and sociological perspectives, this research consists of the case study of two groups with relevant productions to Chinese music in the aforementioned city: Ensemble Gaoshan Liushui and Associação Guqin Brasil. In addition, we evaluated as the articulations of identities modify the musical practice and result in a hybrid culture.
