Abstract in English
The aim of this research is to analyze the Dez Estudos (1967) for solo guitar by the composer Radamés Gnattali, focusing on the harmonic aspects. The elaboration of arrangements for popular music and, concurrently, the production of pieces directed to the concert halls, resulted in singular characteristics in the composers works. Thus, references such as Tiné (2011) and Almada (2012) - aimed at harmony with a popular inclination - are significant for instituting certain propensities. However, in the Dez Estudos there are issues that go beyond the usual particularities of tonality and/or modalism, conceiving, to a certain extent, chromatic particularities. Therefore, Richard Parks (1998) Pitch-Class Set Genera is a tool in the analysis that expands possibilities and harmonic conceptions. The proposal is to understand harmonic similarities between the pieces and, to a certain extent, to relate the composers idiosyncratic propositions.
