Esta dissertação tem como objetos de estudo as peças teatrais Revolução na América do Sul do dramaturgo Augusto Boal e A mais-valia vai acabar, Seu Edgar de Oduvaldo Vianna Filho, ambas escritas no ano de 1960. Como objetivo geral, buscamos compreender como se sintetiza, no campo da forma, a relação entre o conteúdo brasileiro e a forma teatral também brasileira em relação dialética com o teatro épico brechtiano. Para concretizar essa ideia, listamos entre os objetivos específicos: 1) apresentar os dramaturgos em estudo, suas trajetórias artísticas em seus grupos de atuação, Teatro de Arena e Centro Popular de Cultura (CPC); 2) contextualizar o período histórico, político e artístico do Brasil da década de 60; 3) discutir sobre o teatro dialético proposto pelo dramaturgo alemão Bertolt Brecht, de quem as teorizações foram tão produtivas quando lidas criticamente no período das peças em estudo. O método de pesquisa que fundamentou este trabalho foi o materialismo histórico dialético. A finalização da pesquisa nos permitiu concluir que os autores conseguiram assimilar o pensamento brechtiano e adaptá-lo a partir da conjuntura em que estavam circunscritos, aclimatando o pensamento dialético à realidade local e construindo uma forma teatral dialética própria.

This dissertation has as study objects the plays Revolução na América do Sul by playwright Augusto Boal and A mais-valia vai acabar, Seu Edgar by Oduvaldo Vianna Filho, both written in 1960. As a general objective, we seek to undersand how, in the field of form, the relationship between the Brazilian content and the Brazilian theatrical form is synthesized in a dialectical relationship with the Brechtian epic theater. To materialize this ideia, these are the specific objectives: 1) to introduce the dramatists under study, their artistic trajectories at their acting groups, Teatro de Arena and Centro Popular de Cultura (CPC); 2) contextualize the historical, political and artistic period of Brazil in the 60s; 3) discuss the dialectical theater proposed by the german playwright Bertolt Brecht, whose theorizations were so productive when critically read in the period of the plays under study. The research method that founded this academic study was dialectical historical materialism. The completion of the research allowed us to conclude that the authors managed to assimilate Brechtian thought and adapt it from the situation in which they were circumscribed, acclimating dialectical thinking to the local reality and building their own dialectical theatrical form.
