Abstract in English
This thesis investigates the practice of staging outdoors, in open-air spaces of cities, aiming to approach to the concept of landscape. A landscape, traditionally associated with the dimension of space encompassed by a point of view, has mobilized special interest in contemporaneity, especially because it enables a way of thinking about the complexity and the multidimensionality of the social phenomena of our time. Would the practice of contemporary staging be interested in establishing links with the open-air world so as to be configured as a landscape creation? Would the director who operates compositional procedures in open-air spaces be a landscape creator and a mediator of the sensitive encounter between the spectator and the space? In order to answer these questions, this work conducts a conceptual study of the notion of landscape and seeks to bring it closer to some Brazilian pieces such as Dias Felizes (1992), BR-3 (2006), Entrepartidas (2010), among others, with the objective of identifying the constructive operations present in such practices. Along this path, he examines the concept of travelling as an important agent present in the practice of these directors. Finally, in the light of the theoretical discussions and theatrical experiences discussed here, he develops the concept of staging-landscape and its assemblages as the practice of a director-geographer.
