Abstract in English
This thesis is the result of a research that involved an action in the field and its analytical consequences. "The Israeli dance" game was the artistic work generated within this field, which focused on building a contemporary dance piece with Israeli dance practitioners. In this one, three Jewish women share with the public their personal stories in Israeli dance, alternating moments of testimonies with moments of dance. It was observed that this type of choreography has been recurrent, in the midst of contemporary dance production, in which dancers bring, in spoken form, autobiographical testimonies, placing very little, if any, danced movements within the scene. From that point onwards, the following problem arose: would this type of scenic configuration be a subsystem within the vast territory of contemporary dance? Coining a hypothesis that answers this question with a positive statement, to this dance genre was given the name testimonial dance. The main objective of this research was to unravel the aspects that characterize this type of aesthetic-choreographic language. "The Israeli dance" game served as a model and reference for such analysis. As a theoretical framework, the research had as its main foundation the area of Contemporary Studies in Dance, also transiting through historiographical approaches to Israeli dance and the area of literary studies, to discuss self-narrative texts used in testimonies.
