Keywords in Portuguese
Bruxas

Dramaturgia Sonora

Voz

What if the witches were sounds? - The metamorphosis of the time weavers in Macbeth's legend.

Abstract in English
This dissertation intends to discuss the poetic metamorphoses of the witches in the play Macbeth and how they sonically weave their legend, composing a dramaturgy of sound. The text sews historical and mythological traces found in the soundscape, in the images ofthe bodies, of the witches' poetic speech, dreams and personal work reports. The question evokes the relationship between voice and body, sound and image and how these elements are related through imagination. As a symbol of creativity and marginal feminine archetype, the witch and her vocal and bodily metamorphoses approach experimental processes where vocal compositions are woven by interweaving vowels, consonants, physiological sounds, melodies, rhythms, timbres and noises through body movement. lt is a symbol of sound and physical transformation, outside the aesthetics of the beautiful, where "the beautiful is ugly and the ugly is beautiful." The sound that creates meaning in the world, evaporates in the air, but remains in the thoughts and voices of the other. ln the main theoretical framework that stitches the text are the feminist voices of Sílvia Federicci regarding the relationship between the figure of the witch and the female erasure of history, Adriana Cavarero and her philosophy of vocal expression, Pauline Oliveros and her proposal of deep listening as a path composers and other researchers in the fields of mythology, dance and voice.
