This thesis seeks to present the full trajectory of the autobiographical monologues of Spalding Gray, including the process of creation and his characteristics as playwright and performer. Considered an exceptional storyteller, his works always start from personal materials; this permits fruitful discussion of consequences and implications of the use of autobiography in creating theatrical performances.
