Este estudo tem como propósito compreender o papel da fotografia no processo de expressão e de formação da identidade dos fotógrafos (as), considerando suas experiências e produções fotográficas pessoais. Para isso, dois fotógrafos e uma fotógrafa atuantes em contextos sociais e culturais distintos foram estudados: Douglas Mansur, Marcos Palhano e Thamara Lage. Seus trabalhos fotográficos foram analisados e observados aspectos que envolvem seus processos criativos, intencionalidades, discursos e narrativas, discutindo-os como sujeitos com olhares e histórias próprias que buscam por meio da linguagem fotográfica expressar suas realidades e identificações. Procurou-se também abordar a fotografia como meio de representação de identidades individuais e coletivas, ligadas a movimentos e grupos nos quais ambos estão diretamente ligados. Em síntese, pode-se dizer que a fotografia se mostrou como um meio de autorrepresentação, evidenciando identificações entre fotógrafos (as) e fotografados (as). Ainda que os (as) pesquisados tenham trilhado caminhos distintos na definição de seus temas e de suas linguagens para a construção de uma identidade fotográfica autoral, é possível afirmar que o conjunto de suas produções e suas trajetórias, construídas ao longo do tempo, representaram a formação de identidades que não são apenas estéticas ou visuais, mas também sociais, culturais e de resistência. Para ancorar nossas análises valeu-se dos autores Zygmunt Bauman, Stuart Hall, Joan Fontcuberta, Annatereza Fabris, Manuel Castells, entre outros que possibilitaram abordar as relações entre fotografia e identidade.

This study aims to understand the role of photography in the process of expression and formation of the photographers' identity, considering their personal photographic experiences and productions. For this, three photographers working in different social and cultural contexts were studied: Douglas Mansur, Marcos Palhano and Thamara Lage. His photographic works were analyzed and observed aspects that involve his creative processes, intentions, discourses and narratives, discussing them as subjects with their own looks and stories that seek through photographic language to express their realities and identifications. We also tried to approach photography as a means of representing individual and collective identities, linked to movements and groups in which both are directly linked. In summary, it can be said that photography has shown itself as a means of self-representation, evidencing identifications between photographers and those being photographed. Even though those researched have taken different paths in the definition of their themes and languages for the construction of an authorial photographic identity, it is possible to say that the set of their productions and their trajectories, built over time, represented the formation of identities that are not only aesthetic or visual, but also social, cultural and resistance. To anchor our analyzes, the authors used the authors Zygmunt Bauman, Stuart Hall, Joan Fontcuberta, Annatereza Fabris, Manuel Castells, among others that made it possible to approach the relationship between photography and identity.
