Esta pesquisa tem por objetivo geral identificar na teoria Linguística Sistêmico-Funcional (LSF) conceitos e fundamentos teóricos que venham a contribuir para o aprimoramento na elaboração de um Sistema de Organização do Conhecimento (SOC), do tipo Tesauro, a partir das relações já estabelecidas entre a Linguística e a Organização do Conhecimento (OC) no âmbito da Ciência da Informação. Desdobra-se nos objetivos específicos: apresentar um percurso histórico desde a Documentação até a Organização do Conhecimento (OC); identificar conceitos e fundamentos teóricos da Linguística Documentária, da Teoria do Conceito e da Terminologia para o desenvolvimento de um Sistema de Organização do Conhecimento; definir e contextualizar os Sistemas de Organização do Conhecimento, com foco nos Tesauros; apresentar conceitos e fundamentos teóricos da Linguística Sistêmico-Funcional (LSF) e descrever como as relações entre os conceitos anteriormente discutidos contribuem para o aprimoramento do desenvolvimento de um Sistema de Organização do Conhecimento do tipo Tesauro. Trata-se de pesquisa bibliográfica documental de cunho exploratório que apresenta as origens, conceitos e fundamentos teóricos da Linguística Documentária e suas relações com a Terminologia. Contextualiza o tesauro como Sistema de Organização do Conhecimento (SOC), e apresenta conceitos e fundamentos da Linguística Sistêmico-Funcional (LSF), com foco na Metafunção Textual. Analisa os conceitos da LSF pelo prisma da OC e da Terminologia, concluindo que estas áreas se preocupam em enxergar e entender a língua como um recurso utilizado para a criação de significados por meio de termos em contextos específicos, inferindo que a LSF contribui com um melhor entendimento do Conceito e do Termo relacionado com os conceitos de Tema e Rema. Conclui ainda que há convergência entre conceitos e fundamentos da LSF com conceitos sobre os SOCs, corroborando a hipótese de que o uso de pressupostos da Linguística Sistêmico-Funcional contribui para aprimorar a construção e o uso de Sistemas de Organização do Conhecimento.

This study aims at identifying in the Systemic-Functional Linguistics theory (SFL) concepts and theoretical framework that may contribute to the improvement in the elaboration of a Thesaurus-type Knowledge Organization System (KOS), based on the relationships already established between Linguistics and Knowledge Organization (KO) within the scope of Information Science. The specific goals aim at presenting a historical path from Documentation to Knowledge Organization (KO); identifying concepts and theoretical frameworks of the Documentary Linguistics, the Concept Theory and the Terminology for the development of a Knowledge Organization System; defining and contextualizing Knowledge Organization Systems, focusing on Thesauri; presenting concepts and theoretical framework of the Systemic-Functional Linguistics (SFL) and describing how the relationships between the previously discussed concepts contribute to improving the development of a Thesaurus-type Knowledge Organization System. This is a documentary bibliographical research with an exploratory nature that presents the origins, concepts and theoretical frameworks of Documentary Linguistics and its relations with Terminology. It contextualizes the thesaurus as a Knowledge Organization System (KOS) and presents concepts of the Systemic-Functional Linguistics (SFL), focusing the Textual Metafunction. It analyzes the concepts of SFL through the prism of the KO and Terminology, concluding that these areas are concerned with seeing and understanding language as a resource used to create meanings through terms in specific contexts, inferring that the SFL contributes to a better understanding of the Concept and Term related to the concepts of Theme and Rheme. It also concludes that there is convergence between concepts of the SFL with concepts about SOCs, corroborating the hypothesis that the use of premises from the Systemic-Functional Linguistics contributes to improving the construction and use of Knowledge Organization Systems.
