Abstract in English
The search for knowledge stems from an awareness of incompleteness, which materializes in the form of a question. But learning to question is not always easy. The most thought-provoking questions for this research led us to investigate what would be, in Brazil, a teacher education program for K-12 teachers that would favor information literacy for the construction of knowledge. The characterization and the relevance of the information literacy, for those who learn and for those who teach, were approached through literature review and through bibliometric analysis on information literacy and on information in K-12 education. The reality of Brazilian K-12 education in terms of informational infrastructure and teacher education was investigated through documents like the Brazilian education census and the national curriculum guidelines for Pedagogy courses. Finally, the problematizing issues understood as essential to the construction of knowledge related to information literacy in the Brazilian educational environment were summed up. These questions were divided into four groups: (i) information in context and critical thinking, (ii) the voices of information: credibility and ethics, (iii) information security and active citizenship, and (iv) school research and knowledge construction. Each question may develop into other questions to build information literacy skills for teachers, helping them build the same skills with their future students.
