The historical proximity caused more than one gap in the recognition to be given to paulista artists who followed the 20th decade modern forefront. Quirino da Silva is one of these artists who require careful investigation. Quirino participation was accomplished in the line of plastic arts as painter, sculptor and pottery maker and spread out to the journalistic actuation in the sector of art criticism that was, in the 30th and 40th decades, one of the biggest factors of support and the progressive ideas divulgation of the intellectuals and artists , who decisively contributed to the arts modernists spirit consolidation.
