Introduction: Human Papillomaviruses (HPV) are viruses capable of infecting the skin or mucous membranes. Currently, there are 228 different types, 13 of which are considered oncogenic. It is a highly contagious virus with the possibility of infection with only one exposure, sexual contact being the main route of transmission. Even though they are the most common Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI), cancers related to HPV infection are not commonly found in men. On the other hand, in women, it most commonly causes physical, psychological, affective / sexual and social damage, directly impacting the Quality of Life (QOL). Considering that in Brazil there are no specific instruments to assess QOL among women with HPV, the development of a tool for this purpose is of great relevance. Objective: Evaluate the psychometric properties of the Scale to assess the Quality of Life of women with HPV infection - EQUALI-HPV. Methodology: This is a methodological study. Women with HPV infection were interviewed in a specialized clinic. In addition to EQUALI-HPV version 4, a questionnaire was applied with sociodemographic and clinical variables and also the Free and Scald Consent Form (ICF). The data was entered twice and validated in Microsoft® Office Excel for Windows. For the descriptive statistical analyzes (Exploratory Factor Analysis (AFE), Cronbach's alpha and floor and ceiling effects), the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS), 20.0 software was used; for Multitrait-Multimethod (MTMM) analysis, the Multitraid Analysis Program (MAP), 2.0 was used. All ethical aspects were considered. Results: 351 women were interviewed, with a median age of 36.9 years (SD = 11.9), with a minimum of 18 and a maximum of 79; of these, 162 (46.2%) said they were married and the majority (85.5%) had an income of one to three minimum wages. After excluding items related to condylomatosis and knowledge, the model containing 63 items was subjected to verification of psychometric properties. AFE determined that the best structure of the model occurred with six factors. At this time, five items were excluded because they had a factor load ≤0.30. Then, the reliability was verified by analyzing the internal consistency using Cronbach's alpha with an overall result of 0.883; in this stage, four other items that compromised reliability were excluded. AFE was performed again in order to verify the variance explained after the exclusion of the items, obtaining the value of 51.9%. Afterwards, the presence of the floor and ceiling effects in the domain "Reactions to clinical examination" and the ceiling effect in the dimension "Social, family and work relationships" (51.6%) were investigated. In the validity of the convergent construct, 94.4% of the items presented moderate or very strong correlations; in the divergent construct validity, the domains of the instrument presented an adjustment of 100% with the exception of domain 5, which was 98.0%. Conclusion: A model was established with the allocation of items in their respective dimensions, resulting in an instrument with 54 items divided into six dimensions. The psychometric properties evaluated demonstrate that EQUALI-HPV is valid and reliable.
