A violência sexual relacionada ao conflito armado não é um fato novo, mas antigo e presente na história humana. Por meio do tema O uso da violência sexual como arma de guerra nos discursos ideológicos: um estudo de caso sobre Nadia Murad e o Estado Islâmico se concentrou a partir de agosto de 2014, época do estabelecimento do Califado a analisar a escravidão sexual de inúmeras meninas e mulheres yazidis, de tal modo que, a ação foi organizada e estrategicamente idealizada para esse fim. Com o objetivo de investigar a trajetória dessa violência, neste estudo se incluiu o casamento e a gravidez forçada, bem como a influência que a escravidão sexual exerceu como isca para a afiliação de apoiadores, contribuindo para o aumento do fluxo transicional deles. Por meio da metodologia indutiva, o estudo de caso de Nadia Murad, yazidi e ex-escrava sexual, serviu a auxiliar a reflexão ao longo da investigação, de que apesar do Estado Islâmico ser um grupo não estatal, seus apoiadores merecem ser responsabilizados. Todavia, essa responsabilização pode ter sido mais aplicada contra os crimes de terrorismo e não em face da violência sexual. Contudo, dado quase oito anos, a investigação ainda perdura com o apoio das Nações Unidas e do governo iraquiano. Resultados, mesmo parciais, foram obtidos por meio de julgamentos com condenações se reconhecendo, inclusive, a interconexão entre os crimes de tráfico humano, violência sexual baseada em gênero e terrorismo. Seja no âmbito local ou global, há o desafio do enfrentamento dessa questão. O esforço da comunidade internacional pode ser visto na cooperação entre os países, sobremodo os europeus, que têm demonstrado interesse em reprimir e coibir o crime de terrorismo e a filiação de muitos de seus cidadãos, mulçumanos. A exemplo da Alemanha, que sob o manto do princípio da jurisdição universal reconheceu, por meio de um homicídio de uma menina yazidi, o genocídio e crimes de guerra e crimes contra a humanidade. Em que pese a temática da violência sexual relacionada ao conflito estar na pauta de discussões no sistema global de proteção internacional dos direitos humanos, e muito embora sua estrutura já apresente instrumentos normativos protetivos às vítimas, se verifica o desafio de implementá-los. Alinhar o compromisso firmado à prática é necessário ao desencorajamento da repetição desse ciclo de violência.

The conflict-related sexual violence is not a new fact, but an old and present fact in human history. Through the theme "The use of sexual violence as a war weapon in ideological discourses: a case study on Nadia Murad and the Islamic State" focused from August 2014, when the Caliphate was established, to analyze the sexual slavery of countless Yazidi girls and women, in such a way that the action was organized and strategically designed for this purpose. In order to investigate the trajectory of this violence, this study included marriage and forced pregnancy, as well as the influence that sexual slavery exerted as a bait for the affiliation of supporters, contributing to the increase in their transitional flow. Through inductive methodology, the case study of Nadia Murad, Yazidi and former sex slave, served to help the reflection throughout the investigation, that despite the Islamic State being a non-state group, its supporters deserve to be held accountable. However, this accountability may have been applied more against the crimes of terrorism and not in the face of sexual violence. However, considering almost eight years, the investigation still endures with the support of the United Nations and the Iraqi government. Results, even partial, were obtained through trials with convictions, even recognizing the interconnection between the crimes of human trafficking, sexual violence based on gender and terrorism. Whether at the local or global level, there is the challenge of facing this issue. The efforts of the international community can be seen in the cooperation between countries, especially European countries, which have shown interest in repressing and curbing the crime of terrorism and the affiliation of many of their Muslim citizens. Like Germany, which, under the mantle of the principle of universal jurisdiction, recognized, through the murder of a Yazidi girl, genocide and war crimes and crimes against humanity. Despite the issue of conflict-related sexual violence being on the agenda of discussions in the global system for the international protection of human rights, and even though its structure already presents normative instruments to protect victims, there is a challenge to implement them. Aligning the commitment made to the practice is necessary to discourage the repetition of this cycle of violence.
