Abstract in English
The present study seeks to demonstrate that, contrary to what Axel Honneth claims, Marxism is not old-fashioned or inadequate to analyze current social conflicts, even if they are or seem to be predominantly linked to identity issues. Without knowing how to understand these struggles, the theory elaborated by Axel Honneth believes that the history of societies that still exist today would not be the history of class struggles - an idea that would come to him from an excessive economic functionalism - but from the struggles for recognition, namely, moral struggles for love, right and esteem for their individual achievements. Honneth imputes to these struggles for recognition in three spheres an emancipatory potential for self-realization of individuals, for through them the morality of society would be broadened, in other words, more distinct individuals would be recognized by society as new characteristics would be socially recognized. However, Honneth conceives, even if he does not know, these three spheres of recognition under the logic of contractual ideology. By starting from the premise that violations of recognition are moral, Honneth naturalizes the relations of exploitation of labor, relations that are not moral and independent of the emotional suffering and concern the surplus labour-time, that is expropriated of the workers. Submissive to this logic of contractual ideology, the author does not face the essence and determinations of the "legal person"; nor the logic of equivalence between equals that permeates his notion of merit; nor the impact of the class society in the formation of family.
