Abstract in English
The historical affirmation of labor rights in Brazil and Argentina has similarities and differences. The role of strong political leaders such as Getúlio Vargas and Juan Domingo Perón was important in these processes in both countries. However, the support of these governments was different for different historical reasons. The participation of strong union organizations in Argentina during the formation of Peronism and the attempt to build a corporatist union model in Brazil are some of these differences. This work seeks to understand how state intervention, and the agenda of asserting labor rights, contributed to the formation of a political culture of the working class in both countries. Comparison in a historical perspective helps to understand political, legal and social phenomena that are not isolated and contributes to the formulation of a critique committed to social transformation.
