The unpaid health care account

Abstract in English
Women experience a non-isonomic and unfair situation as they bear most of the responsibilities in unpaid care that promote well-being and meet health needs. The reason for this devaluation and non-recognition of free care, which results in lower economic possibilities, greater illness and discrimination against women stems from the sexual division of labor. The guarantee of a universal and equal right to health relieves the pressure of this unpaid work. However, obstacles to its full attainment promotes the opposite effect. Finding, therefore, ways to describe and measure, by time and value, the activities of unpaid care in health, as proposed in this research, are essential to mitigate this unequal situation for women, as well as improve the implementation of the right to health.
