Abstract in English
The proposed research aims to understand the main meanings of the protagonism of women who are prisioners relatives, especially in the spheres of institutional violence, of the economy, through the movement generated mainly by the jumbo, and of collective strategies of insurrection against the oppressions experienced. Based on the teachings of critical criminology in the Latin American context, the social reproduction theory and the lessons on social movements against state violence, the text demonstrates how the intertwined relationship between capitalism, racism and patriarchy informs the massive performance of black women and poor to face the incarceration of their relatives. To this end, the women's perception about the material and subjective impacts of the interaction with prison was investigated from the imprisonment of a relative, canvassing the institutional dynamics involving the performance of large contingents of women who penetrate the prison territory. Finally, it comprises women who are prisioners relatives as a potent political actor for resistance and struggles for rights, especially through the work of social movements such as the Association of Friends and Relatives of Prisoners, AMPARAR.
