A monografia disserta sobre as principais tendências do Estado contemporâneo, o futuro do Estado e analisa seu possível fim. Para tanto, define um recorte temporal a partir de 1945 (Pós-Segunda Guerra Mundial), e analisa a atual conjuntura e suas implicações ao Estado contemporâneo. Sob uma visão doutrinária complexa, institucional interdependente e mutativa do estado faz um intenso diálogo juspolítico entre os autores pertinentes às específicas escolas afins, tendo como base o método transdisciplinar. Para compreensão do fenômeno estudado foi utilizada uma abordagem complexa da sociedade, uma revisão conceitual dos elementos formadores do Estado e a inserção da variável de atualização do Estado e da dinâmica social. Compreendeu-se majoritariamente que o Estado sofrerá alterações significativas nos campos (i) político-jurídico, decorrente da crise da democracia, da evolução das instituições domésticas e internacionais e das crises do direito, (ii) econômico, decorrente de todas as consequências do sistema capitalista global e (iii) paradigmático, decorrente das escolhas e dos ideais reinvindicados e defendidos pela sociedade. Nota-se ainda que o principal agente das mudanças do Estado e promovedor da globalização será a tecnologia digital. Aparentemente, não se percebe o fim do Estado nas próximas décadas, caso ele se ajuste às demandas promovidas pelas mudanças sociais. Hipoteticamente, se um dia o Estado se extinguir, sua substituição ocorrerá por meio de outra instituição com as mesmas características ("mesmo DNA").

The thesis discusses about the main trends of the contemporary State, the future of the State and analyzes its possible end. To this end, it defines a time frame starting from 1945 (PostWorld War II), and analyzes the current situation and its implications for the contemporary State. Under a complex doctrinal, interdependent and changing institutional view of the state, it makes an intense juspolitical dialogue between the authors pertinent to specific related schools, based on the transdisciplinary method. To understand the studied phenomenon, it uses a complex approach to society, a conceptual review of the elements that make up the State and the insertion of the State's update variable and social dynamics. It was mostly understood that the State will undergo significant changes in the (i) political and legal fields, resulting from the crisis of democracy, the evolution of domestic and international institutions and the crises of law, (ii) economic field, resulting from all the consequences of the global capitalist system, and (iii) paradigmatic field, resulting from the choices and ideals claimed and defended by society. It is also noted that the main agent of changes in the State and the promoter of globalization will be digital technology. Apparently, if it adjusts to the demands promoted by social changes, the end of the state in the coming decades is not perceived. Hypothetically, if one day the State is extinguished, its replacement will occur through another institution with the same characteristics ("same DNA").
