Lean Manufacturing is a management approach that emerged at Toyota in the 50s, which focuses on eliminating waste. For that it uses several tools. This approach generates benefits for organizations and is widely accepted and employed. Despite the wide acceptance, production systems need to consider the digital technologies provided by Industry 4.0. Lean practices can be implemented in this period when the Fourth Industrial Revolution expands, integrating both approaches to improve the efficiency of production systems. Therefore, the objective of this study is to identify the sequence to be prioritized for implementing Lean Manufacturing practices and Industry 4.0 technologies. To achieve this goal, the Interpretive Structural Modeling (ISM) method was applied, as well as the Cross-Impact Matrix Multiplication Applied to Classification (MICMAC) analysis, which allowed the identification of Lean practices and Industry 4.0 technologies that have high driving power and those who are dependent. A structural model shows the hierarchy between Lean practices and Industry 4.0 technologies, showing that Industry 4.0 technologies influence Lean practices, and thus should be prioritized for implementation. The contributions resulting from this study provide a better understanding of the existing literature on Industry 4.0, Lean Manufacturing and their relationship, as well as provide practical implications for industries wishing to implement Lean practices and/or Industry 4.0 technologies and point out research gaps to be filled for future work.
