Abstract in English
The present work introduces a new transducer for measuring the peak of impulsive currents originated from tall structures, such as those related to telecommunication. The components of the system are the Rogowski coil, fixed on the top of the tower, the coaxial cable and an oscilloscope allocated at the base of the tower. The coil, fixed on the platform located on the tower top next to the lightning discharge protection system, generates an electric signal on its terminals that is proportional to the magnetic field variation generated by the current of the discharge. The signal is transmitted with a minimum distortion through the cable. An oscilloscope is connected to the cable and it measures and store data obtained from the signal. The project was simulated using circuit analysis software. In order to develop all the components of the system, an extensive literature review was performed, particularly related to impulsive currents, related magnetic fields and magnetic coupling transducers. The mechanical structures were designed using the Inventor software for further construction. The first calibration tests were already performed. Tests were performed at the Instituto de Energia e Ambiente (IEE-USP) to calibrate the system and to determine the system behavior when working with impulsive peak currents.
