Keywords in Portuguese
biodiesel
controlador digital
etanol

Abstract in English
Greenhouse effect caused by oil derivatives combustion has been worsened day after day, turning into a global problem. Besides, the reported mineral is non-renewable and there is universal consensus that their stores will be extinguished in a period inferior to 100 years. As though, an alternative to minimize such problems is the use of biofuels, evidencing biodiesel and ethanol. The present work had the aim of evaluating the effect of hydrated alcohol injection on potency recovery of engines working with biodiesel. For this purpose a digital controller was proposed. Validation was done using an OM 924 LA diesel engine fueled with soy filtered ethylic biodiesel. Results revealed that alcohol injection corrected potency reduction resulting from biodiesel use and minimized NOx emission deriving from combustion
