Keywords in Portuguese
construção civil
estoque para recorte unidímensional
técnicas de otimização
Title in English
A rational method to make good use of the rest of steel's bars used in concrete structure
Keywords in English
civil construction
one-dimensional cutting stock
optimization techniques
Abstract in English
This research shows the importance of the use of rational constructive methods that reduce the waste of material and labor, in order to improve the quality of the constructions. Also, it shows the use of mathematical and one-dimensional cutting stock techniques. The main feature of the cutting stock procedure considered in this research is the purpose of making good use of the rest of steel's bars. Having this in mind, the method relates the length of the bar pieces that could be useful with the diameter of them. Such an operational procedure would be useful for cutting shops, where the volume of cutting bars is usually high. The research was well succeded as it reduced the material's waste to values next to 2% of the total of the steel's bars used in four different projects; it left, as well, a stock of rests of steel's bars, which can be used in future projects. This stock was about 10% of the total of bars used in the last studied project
