Foi projetado e construído um banco de ensaios para experimentos com mancais aerostáticos axiais. Foram ensaiados vários mancais axiais e obtiveram-se as características de capacidade de carga e rigidez em função da folga. Os resultados obtidos foram comparados com os teóricos e discutidos os problemas encontrados.

Abstract in English

The design and construction of a test rig for experimens with aerostatic thrust bearings were developed. The load carrying capacity and stiffness characteristics were obtained as function of clearence for several thrust bearings under test. The results obtained were compared with the theory and discussed.
