Abstract in English
Within the context of column-foundation connection in precast concrete structures, this study aims to contribute to the analysis of external, partially embedded and embedded socket foundations in two-pile caps subjected to axial compressive loading. Therefore, it was evaluated: the behavior of the connection between column and pile cap; the contribution of pile cap's and socket foundation's main reinforcements; the influence of interface in situations of smooth conformation and with shear key; and the structural performance of monolithic two-pile caps and socket foundations. The methodology consists of developing on software ABAQUS 2020, by Finite Element Method, numerical analyses of the connection based on an experimentally calibrated model. It was observed that the greater degree of embedding socket, lower is the ratio between ultimate strength of pile cap with socket and monolithic reference pile cap, reaching values of 135%, 92% and 45% for smooth interface, and 166%, 131% and 97% for shear key interface. Transfers of efforts in sockets with shear key are more efficient when compared to smooth sockets, conferring an increase in ultimate strength by 23%, 46% and 106% for external, partially embedded and embedded socket, respectively. Pile cap's main reinforcement is the reinforcement with the greatest influence on the ultimate strength of the pile cap. Socket foundation's main reinforcements (vertical and horizontal) are little influential in the centered loading situation.
