Ação conjunta parede-viga na alvenaria estrutural

Alvenaria estrutural
Método dos elementos finitos

Structural masonry
Abstract in English
In this dissertation is presented a theoretical study about structural masonry, applying the finite element method. The main purpose is to show the structural behavior of masonry walls supported by reinforced concrete beam and subjected to vertical loads. It is evidenced the phenomenon of arch effect, that occurs in the basis of the wall, and the main standards governing it. It is studied the contribution of the stiffness of the wall and the beam in the structural behavior, emphasizing the main parameters involved in the development of the project of wall-beam system models. The more important theories in the analysis of these structures are discussed, permitting to quantify the stresses in the wall, and the internal efforts in the beam, sticking out their limitations and advantages. Several numerical examples are presented, showing the same tension lines for the wall and the internal efforts for the beam, both obtained with the finite element analysis. Finally is presented the conclusion of this work, and the suggestions for further researches to be developed, giving sequence to this dissertation.
