O presente trabalho trata do estudo de microconcretos leves de alto desempenho, utilizando argila expandida e sílica ativa, direcionados à tecnologia de pré-fabricados. Na parte teórica são apresentados definições, desenvolvimento histórico, características e propriedades dos concretos leves de alto desempenho (CLAD's), bem como, da sílica ativa e da argila expandida. Na parte experimental foram idealizados cinco tipos de dosagens diferentes para análise das propriedades dos microconcretos: resistência à compressão, massa específica, resistência à tração por compressão diametral, módulo de elasticidade e consumo de cimento. Pretende-se demonstrar o potencial de emprego do material na produção de pré-fabricados de pequena espessura para execução de coberturas industriais, galerias, pontilhões rodoviários, lajes e vigas de edifícios .

This thesis deals with the study of high performance lightweight aggregate microconcretes using expanded clay and sílica fume for precast material technology. In the theoretical part, definitions, history, characteristics and properties of high performance lightweight aggregate concretes, as well as, sílica fume and expanded clay, are presented. In the experimental part, tive kinds of mixes were created to analyse microconcrete properties: compressive strength, density, splitting tensile strength, modulus of elasticity and cement content. The application potential on the production of low-thickness pre-cast material, for the execution of industrial covers, aqueducts, small bridges, slabs and beams, is intended to be demonstrated.
