Keywords in Portuguese

Teste de progresso

Abstract in English
The medical residency in Infectious Diseases is essential to acquire technical and in-depth knowledge about the medical specialty. However, there is no standardized method of cognitive assessment of residents. In this sense, the present work seeks to contribute to the implementation of a Progress Test (PT) as a periodic evaluation instrument for residents of Infectious Diseases at Hospital das Clínicas de Ribeirão Preto (HCRP). Formative assessment methods, such as PT, can be used as a pedagogical strategy, providing feedback to residents and the Medical Residency Programs (MRP) in which they are inserted, allowing to identify areas in which they need more support, supervision or additional training and that provide all residents with the opportunity to receive the necessary support to develop skills and knowledge to practice the specialty. Throughout the project, we developed a bank of multiple-choice and single correct questions, with about 300 questions, and applied four semester tests to HCRP Infectious Diseases residents through the Moodle platform. The experience was evaluated by the participating residents as positive, the application of online tests proved to be a useful and practical tool.
