Title in Portuguese
Amarração: emaranhamentos entre arte, educação e design
Keywords in Portuguese
Arte
Design
Educação
Participação

Binding: entanglements between art, education and design

Abstract in English
This thesis presents the concept of binding to define movements that articulate knowledges of art, education and design in the conduction of participatory processes. Using cartography as a method, the research gains voice through a designated agent through the composition -artist-educator-designer- and outlines three binding movements that scrutinize three Cultural Action projects: Field Notebook, Cuadernos de Medellín and Possible Women: body, gender and incarceration. The binding as a set of devices considers design a place that is always in relation, in coupling, entangled with other disciplines and understands the space of the project as a learning environment. The research is in line with current debates in design, which seek to foster new ontological and epistemological paradigms for the field, turning it towards the investigation of increasingly situated practices, committed to the relational dimension of life and to the construction of autonomy. The study aims to make a methodological contribution to the participatory design approach and emphasizes the importance of fostering transdisciplinary perspectives aimed at systematizing local practices in this field.
