Urban planning
Abstract in English
Urban planning has been characterized by the action of the State in the spatial organization in the form of master plans and spatial zoning laws, which are strategies based on the technocracy of the ruling class guided by neoliberal ideas in the production and planning of urban space, valuing the value exchange on the use value of places. The objective of this dissertation was to understand the social and spatial relationships of the LGBT+ population and their identity categories in the construction of places of comfort and discomfort in their daily trajectories. The main methodology used was inspired by the tool proposed by Rodó de Zárate (2014) based on a geography of intersectionality in the production of Relief Maps, which considers three dimensions of analysis: social, psychological and geographical, in order to analyze power structures, life experiences and places. In this way, a critical reading of neoliberal urban planning was carried out and the search to (re)imagine new spaces of insurgent struggles when thinking about the act of planning cities through the narratives of LGBT+ people. Thus, appreciation of the subjects' daily experiences may contribute to the development of new practices of relations with space, considering the identity of the place and the cultural issues of the use of the territory, especially for marginalized populations from the decision processes, that is, activating local knowledge to think about scientific knowledge.
