O objetivo desta pesquisa é demonstrar que os sujeitos periféricos organizados em torno da cultura têm elaborado e implantado um projeto urbano para a cidade de São Paulo. Esse projeto se desenvolve em espaços de produção e fruição cultural que são autoconstruídos e tensionam a segregação espacial a partir da produção de centralidades descentralizadas. Buscamos demonstrar que esse projeto é territorial e racialmente orientado e contra-hegemônico, uma vez que nega a captura da cidade de São Paulo, em especial de suas periferias, para a conformação de paisagens para renda. Também é diferente daquele proposto pelo campo popular que entrou em cena a partir dos anos 1970, já que se anuncia com uma outra gramática que não aquela consagrada no planejamento urbano, tendo um enlace, a cultura, diferente do que ligou o campo democrático popular e a produção acadêmica, muito centrada no tema da moradia.

This investigation aimed to demonstrate that peripheral subjects collective political actors from the outskirts who organize in the cultural scene have articulated and implemented an urban project for the city of São Paulo. Their project develops around self-built spaces of cultural production and fruition which create tension within spatial segregation by producing decentralized centralities. We aimed to demonstrate that their project is grounded in a deep understanding of territory and race, and it is counter-hegemonic as it refutes the seizing of the city of São Paulo, especially its outskirts, for profit-driven landscapes. It is also different from the project originally proposed by grassroots movements that emerged as of the 1970s, as it uses a language that differs from what has been long established in urban planning. Moreover, it is bound by a knot, culture, that is different from the connection that has brought democratic grassroots organizing and academic production together in the past, with a significant focus on housing.
