A mobilidade a pé, mais antiga forma de deslocamento, é a que mais expõe caminhantes às condições dos espaços públicos. Em São Paulo, as mulheres são as que mais se deslocam deste modo, mas foram invisibilizadas nas leituras e planos urbanos. Este trabalho procura dar relevo à mobilidade a pé nos estudos de mobilidade, bem como abordá-la interseccionalmente. Tem como objetivo compreender as alterações sociais, políticas e territoriais e como podem ser lidas diferenciando gênero e, sempre que possível, raça. Assim, recupera a teoria sobre mobilidade e gênero, contextualiza conceitos, e observa o giro latino-americano que busca identificar quem são e de que forma os diferentes grupos sociais experienciam a mobilidade urbana. Faz uma leitura generificada dos espaços da mobilidade a pé na cidade de São Paulo, ao longo do século XX, periodizada em uma linha do tempo narrada a partir das alterações (i) na sociedade nos costumes, lutas e conquistas das mulheres ; (ii) na política na regulação, planos, (re)organizações institucionais; e (iii) nos espaços do caminhar. O método envolveu consulta de documentos, fotografias e bibliografias. Resulta em uma nova narrativa generificada de uma história conhecida. Conclui que houve uma evolução social, política, regulatória e na produção dos espaços do caminhar que levou a distinções sociais e espaciais. Para a mobilidade a pé, foram propostas e experimentadas transformações do espaço público. Estes avanços se deram de forma fragmentada, e sem conformar um sistema de mobilidade ou tensionar estruturas racializadas e generificadas de nossas cidades, de forma que mantêm o olhar ao pedestre de forma universal.

Walking mobility, the oldest mean of transportation, is also the one that exposes walkers the most to the conditions of public spaces. In São Paulo, women are the ones who move the most this way, but they were made invisible in readings and urban plans. This work seeks to highlight walking mobility in mobility studies, as well as approach it intersectionally. It aims at understanding social, political and territorial changes and how they can be read by differentiating gender and, whenever possible, race. Thus, it recovers the theory on mobility and gender, contextualizes concepts, and observes the Latin American turn that seeks to identify who are the different social groups and how they experience urban mobility. It makes a generalized reading of the spaces of walking mobility in the city of São Paulo throughout the 20th century, periodized in a timeline narrated from the changes (i) in society in customs, fights and conquests of women ; (ii) in politics in regulation, plans, institutional (re)organizations; and (iii) in the spaces of walking. The method involved consulting documents, photographs and bibliographies. It results in a new gendered narrative of a well-known story. It concludes that there was a social, political, regulatory and production evolution of walking spaces that led to social and spatial distinctions. For walking mobility, public space transformations were proposed and experimented with. These advances took place in a fragmented way, and without conforming a mobility system or tensioning racialized and gendered structures of our cities, which maintains the image of the pedestrian in a universal way.
