Territórios de vida: resistências, existências e produção de cuidado por mulheres negras apresenta a investigação sobre experiências de cuidado e outras formas de produzir cidade, a partir da atuação de quatro mulheres em bairros periféricos na zona leste de São Paulo: União de Vila Nova, Penha e Jardim Santa Inês. Além de entrevistas, esta tese está lastreada também em pesquisa documental e em dados estatísticos e mapeamentos sobre desigualdades de gênero e raça, bem como em revisão bibliográfica sobre o feminismo negro. Procura demonstrar como a atuação destas mulheres negras no cuidado individual e coletivo de grupos sociais moradores dessas periferias, seja a partir de seus protagonismos e lideranças pessoais ou a partir de vinculações a organizações sociais, produz resistências contra formas diversas de opressão, organiza a vida cotidiana e, por sua vez, produz a cidade. Procura reconhecer ainda que essas formas de cuidado contemporâneas remetem a saberes ancestrais que foram preservados de forma lacunar e fragmentária, mas que foram reconstruídos, recriados e disseminados por estas mulheres sujeitas da pesquisa.

Territories of life: resistance, existence and the production of care by black women presents an investigation into experiences of care and other ways of producing the city, based on the work of four women in peripheral neighborhoods in the east of São Paulo: União de Vila Nova, Penha and Jardim Santa Inês. In addition to interviews, this thesis is also based on documentary research and statistical data and mapping on gender and race inequalities, as well as a bibliographical review of black feminism. It seeks to demonstrate how the actions of these black women in the individual and collective care of social groups living in these peripheries, whether through their personal leadership or through their links to social organizations, produces resistance against various forms of oppression, organizes daily life and, in turn, produces the city. It also seeks to recognize that these contemporary forms of care refer to ancestral knowledge that has been preserved in a lacunar and fragmentary way, but which has been reconstructed, recreated and disseminated by these women who are the subjects of the research.
