Abstract in English
This project aims to investigate the space as language, as well as the mechanisms of perception and creation of the artistic work of immersion, be it performative, scenic, visual, audiovisual, exhibition or even architecture. Our research proposes the design of space as a matter capable of creating own narratives, in addition to intertwining with other forms of expression. We thus defend the hypothesis that the design of space and its primordial elements are configured as devices of autonomous language, repositioning the term beyond representation. We intend to discuss this statement through the experience of the Permeable Borders Laboratory, in the light of selected bibliography and concepts present in contemporary artistic practice. The current investigation continues the research presented in the masters thesis The design of scenic space: from experiential experience to form . If in the previous work we analyzed the object as a teaching method, we now present a new approach. We intend, in the current process, to examine and bring to the debate the ability of the language of space to act autonomously, as a propelling motor of aesthetic-performative action. Respecting the complex nature of the object, we propose a practical-theoretical process for such an examination, in that order
