Abstract in English
The research follows the emergence of the Swiss architects Jacques Herzog & Pierre de Meuron's office in the architectural scene and what seems to have aroused the interest of their peers and critics. It recovers the place of origin of the duo, Switzerland, to understand some of the local conditions that could contribute to the distinction they have achieved, starting initially from tradition, and, even more specifically, what is the importance of the city in which they are based, Basel, for the works they develop, until the project for the Tate Modern. It finds common ground with the visual arts at the Düsseldorf Art Academy, through the production of the German artist Gerhard Richter, through which it extends, and through collaborative similarities with the German photographer Thomas Ruff.
