Abstract in English
This work takes as its object modern architecture in Brazil and one of its printed sources - the articles published in the European specialized magazines between the decades of 1940 and 1960. The research aimed at establishing a documental base as bibliographical source to be analysed inside a global view of the texts and images, verifying their importance in the constituition of the historiography of modern architecture. We believe that the publications dedicated to modern architecture in the post-War were closely related to the epochal international debate, and contributed to the strengthening and continuity of the Modern Movement searched by the CIAM. Behind each director and each editor there is a project to be carried on by the magazine. Through the analysis of the documents introduced by the review, this work searched for revealing the discourses about Modern Architecture produced by the magazines and their positions when presenting a subject, a project. Going along the pages of the reviews, we find time and history through its texts and images. Thus the analysis of those documents can provide new points of views and new readings of the doctrines and the debates of the period.
