A pesquisa busca compreender a saída da Escola Estadual Prudente de Moraes (EE Prudente de Moraes) para uma nova edificação, provocada em 2007 pelos planos de expansão da Pinacoteca de São Paulo, instituição museal vizinha, que passou a deter desde 2014 um prédio tombado construído em 1950 pelo Convênio Escolar, num contexto de mudanças urbanas e pedagógicas. Reconstituindo o que foi produzido - em especial pelos conselhos e órgãos de preservação como o CONPRESP, CONDEPHAAT e IPHAN - entre os anos 1930 e 2022 sobre o patrimônio cultural, no distrito administrativo do Bom Retiro, onde está localizada a edificação e a escola, são obtidos elementos para interpretar essa transferência da instituição de ensino em relação com outras dinâmicas sociais nessa parte da região central. De forma conjunta, se discutem os olhares da comunidade escolar sobre o acontecimento, assim como as percepções da mesma sobre a EE Prudente de Moraes e sua atual edificação, o estabelecimento de identidades territorializadas para a Luz e o Bom Retiro, e outros desdobramentos da patrimonialização de São Paulo.

The research aims to understand the transference of the school Prudente de Moraes (Escola Estadual Prudente de Moraes: EE Prudente de Moraes) to a new building, provoked in 2007 by São Paulo Pinacoteca expansion plans, a neighboring museal institution that holds, since 2014, the listed edification built in 1950 by the Scholar Agreement (Convênio Escolar) in a context of urban and pedagogical changes. Analyzing what has been produced between the decade of 1930 and 2022 on cultural heritage in the administrative district of Bom Retiro, where the school and its previous building are located, several useful elements for interpreting the educational institution transference in association with other social dynamics of this central area of São Paulo are obtained. This is done observing specially the actions of the councils and technical institutions such as the Municipal Council for the Preservation of Historical, Cultural and Ambiental Heritage of the CIty of São Paulo (Conselho Municipal de Preservação do Patrimônio Histórico, Cultural e Ambiental da Cidade de São Paulo: CONPRESP), the Council for the Defence of Historical, Archaeological, Artistic and Touristic Heritage (Conselho de Defesa do Patrimônio Histórico, Arqueológico, Artístico e Turístico: CONDEPHAAT) and the National Historical and Artistic Heritage Institute (Instituto do Patrimônio Histórico e Artístico Nacional: IPHAN). Complementary, the research discusses how the scholar community sees this event, the EE Prudente de Moraes and its current building, the creation of territorialized identities of Luz and Bom Retiro, and other unfoldings of São Paulos heritage making.
