O futuro do trabalho é tema na atual conjuntura mundial. Da flexibilização dos contratos à organização de trabalhadores informais fica evidente a centralidade da questão. O tema compõe pautas econômicas e sociais, mas a invisibilidade do trabalhador como parte da política neoliberal parece justificar a redução de seu valor cultural. Por isto, esta pesquisa tem como objetivo compreender o que constitui o patrimônio do trabalho à luz de reflexões sobre suas representações para os sujeitos sociais, bem como para os órgãos oficiais de patrimônio que atuam no estado de São Paulo. Estabelece como objeto de análise três bens culturais localizados no estado de São Paulo: a Fábrica Brasital e antigas residências de operários em São Roque, tombados pelo Condephaat; a Companhia Nitro Química Brasileira, tombada pelo Conpresp; e o Estádio 1o de Maio, em processo de tombamento pelo Iphan. Tais escolhas baseiam-se em concepção ampla sobre o patrimônio do trabalhador, envolvendo trabalho, moradia, lazer e luta. Tem como períodos de análise a década de 1980 e os anos 2000, entendidos como momentos em que o campo do patrimônio teve condições de caminhar no sentido de ampliação conceitual e democratização das práticas de preservação. O desenvolvimento da pesquisa pautou-se em temas do patrimônio cultural nas três instâncias brasileiras, na história social do trabalho, e na historiografia da arquitetura voltada ao tema do trabalho; pesquisa bibliográfica específica a cada caso; visitas técnicas; processos de tombamento, e entrevistas com pesquisadores, sujeitos sociais, e técnicos do patrimônio envolvidos com os dossiês de estudo, com os processos de tombamentos, ou cujas trajetórias de vida foram atravessadas pela existência dos objetos analisados. Temas como patrimônio industrial, patrimônio como direito coletivo e propriedade privada, lugar de memória e museus compõem a análise.

The future of work is a topic in the current world conjuncture. From the flexibilization of contracts to the organization of informal workers, the centrality of the issue is evident. The theme composes economic and social agendas, but the invisibility of the worker as part of neoliberal policy seems to justify the reduction of its cultural value. Therefore, this research aims to understand what constitutes the work1s heritage in the light of reflections on its representations for social subjects, as well as for the official heritage institutions that operate in the state of São Paulo. It establishes as object of analysis three cultural heritages located in São Paulo: the Brasital factory and workers former residences in São Roque, listed by Condephaat; Companhia Nitro Química Brasileira, listed by Conpresp; and the 1o de Maio Stadium, in the process of being listed by Iphan. Such choices are based on a broad conception of the worker's heritage, involving work, housing, leisure and struggle. Its periods of analysis are the 1980s and 2000s, understood as moments in which the field of heritage was able to move towards conceptual expansion and democratization of preservation practices. The development of the research was based on themes of cultural heritage in the three Brazilian instances, on the social history of work, and on the historiography of architecture focused on the theme of work; specific bibliographic research for each case; technical visits; listing processes, and interviews with researchers, social subjects, and heritage technicians involved with the study dossiers, with the listing processes, or whose life trajectories were crossed by the existence of the analyzed objects. Themes such as industrial heritage, heritage as collective right and private property, place of memory and museums composes the analysis.
