Visando minimizar os impactos ambientais gerados pela construção civil, há a necessidade de implementar-se em larga escala a utilização de materiais sustentáveis. O bambu mostra-se como eficiente alternativa para sanar esta demanda. O presente trabalho, investiga a possibilidade de utilização do bambu processado, na forma de bambu laminado. Para tanto, valeu-se de um tipo de estrutura malha reticulada para articular o diálogo entre as tecnologias e ferramentas digitais e o material proposto. A proposição da estrutura reticulada tem o papel de elemento aglutinador entre os dois temas centrais do trabalho: material e técnica. Por meio da exploração do processo e sistema construtivo da estrutura reticulada, procurou-se discutir e demonstrar as possibilidades de aplicação dos temas centrais. O enfoque se dá suscitando o diálogo entre tectônica e semântica, técnica e linguagem, interpolando o material bambu às tecnologias e ferramentas digitais e suas possíveis linguagens. Investiga as possibilidades de fabricação digital utilizando-se o bambu laminado. Apropria-se das características do plug-in Karamba 3D, realizando simulações e análises do comportamento estrutural, a partir do algoritmo desenvolvido no plug-in Grasshopper.

To minimize the environmental impacts generated by civil construction, there is a need to implement on a large scale the use of sustainable materials. Bamboo is an efficient alternative to meet this demand. The present work investigates the possibility of using processed bamboo in the form of laminated bamboo. To do so, it used a type of structure gridshell to articulate the dialogue between digital technologies and tools and the proposed material. The proposition of the reticulated structure plays the role of a unifying element between the two central themes of the work: material and technique. Through the exploration of the process and constructive system of the gridshell, we tried to discuss and demonstrate the possibilities of application of the central themes. The focus is on promoting the dialogue between tectonics and semantics, technique, and language, interpolating the material bamboo to digital technologies and tools, and their possible languages. Investigate the possibilities of digital fabrication using laminated bamboo. It makes use of the characteristics of the Karamba 3D plug-in, performing simulations and analysis of the structural behaviour, based on the algorithm developed in the Grasshopper plug-in.
