Abstract in English
Over the last fifteen years, BIM (Building Information Modeling) has been adopted in the professional market and implemented in the teaching of Architecture and Urbanism. Reports and experiences, national and international, have shown that it is not just about teaching a new digital tool, but about incorporating and developing a series of knowledge, skills, and attitudes, in a set of collaborative and interdisciplinary processes. Given this scenario, the incorporation of BIM teaching in undergraduate courses in Architecture and Urbanism in Brazil has been encountering difficulties for the current curriculum structure to be able to absorb all the necessary aspects for BIM teaching that is effective and goes beyond the simple instrumental teaching of digital modeling. An interdisciplinary teaching in Architecture and Urbanism courses have been discussed since the structuring of the first independent courses from the Academies of Fine Arts and Polytechnic Schools and can help in the incorporation of BIM teaching within a scenario of inflexible curricula to new contents. This work seeks to establish relations around the implementation of BIM content in undergraduate courses in Architecture and Urbanism in Brazil, with emphasis on the possibility of interdisciplinarity in the course, seeking to identify aspects of BIM that provide its insertion in existing disciplines in courses of architecture and urbanism. As part of the research, a bibliographical review was carried out on the topics addressed, an open online survey directed at teachers, coordinators and directors of Architecture and Urbanism courses in Brazil and structured interviews with professors of the main undergraduate courses in architecture and urbanism in the state of São Paulo.
