Casa bandeirista (São Paulo)

Abstract in English
This paper refers to twelve houses built in the surroundings of São Paulo during the 17th and 18th centuries. Five of those houses were carefully restored and maybe the other will have the same fate. the peculiar disposition of the spaces with a front yard (strip), having rooms for guests, varanda and a little chapel and the other rooms, in the oldest houses, having (not any) no similarity with the European tradition, allow us to suppose that those houses are in the life of the highlands in the State of São Paulo in the two first centuries of Portuguese political occupation of Brazil mixture of society with both European and native characteristics simultaneously. The paper enlists technical and artistic resources and documents that give evidence of this syncretism.
