Abstract in English
This dissertation aims to demonstrate the evolution of visual communication. At first, some brief historical concepts relating past and present are established so as to illustrate such an evolution. Graphic expression has undergone several technological changes and so has the human being who initially has drawn on the cave walls, but nowadays sends images worldwide through his personal computer, from his own home. Visual messages are part of the daily routine, especially in the great urban centers which are invaded by an enormous load of images from billboards, customized vehicles on the roads, traffic signs, huge neon signs and the urban architecture itself, everything is overloaded by the visual information in order to call the onlooker's attention. All these messages must be organized and systematized to best transmit the ideas they carry. This is where the visual programming stands and it is here analysed, taking into consideration its concepts, communicational and applying aspects. This programming is evaluated by common procedures which will direct the great corporation's strategies all over the world in an attempt to develop and maintain their visual identity before their public and associates. Such a systematization is studied based on several author's concepts, definitions and projects. The final result is the proposal of developing the corporate image of Tilibra S.A., leader of paper and stationary products, established in Bauru, state of Sao Paulo.
